Our Rich History
and Legacy
In August 1976 Bob and Penny Fulton with a few other leaders of the Yorba Linda friends Church decided to start a small group where they could encourage and minister to one another. These people were desperate, burned out, and hungry for more of Jesus. God had incredible mercy on this gathering and poured out His presence. John Wimber soon visited, and the Holy Spirit grabbed his heart. John was soon filled with the Spirit of God, and vision to plant a church that healed the sick and fed the poor. His vision grew from there. Soon a church was birthed and began meeting at a small building on the main street of Yorba Linda on Mother Day, 1977. These humble beginnings grew into the Vineyard Anaheim church and soon was a movement that profoundly influenced the global church across denominational lines. We now have over 2400 Vineyard Churches worldwide. The Vineyard has impacted the lives of thousands across the globe, and used by God to renew the spiritual life in the 20th and 21st century church.
